The window for St. Leonards was created through developing an idea working with the Sunday School. The design is based on a Cross, with a winding, twisting shape growing up through it. Other symbols used were a Jacob’s ladder, and the five wounds of Christ. I worked with the children to create imagery that was printed into the glass, and engraved on the surface. We went for a walk through the woods and did some drawings and collected objects that reminded us of the journey we took. These objects and references formed the basis for the images in the glass. The window symbolises our journey through life, and the journey of the child growing up. It also symbolises the journey through faith.
